The Young Adult area of the library contains fiction materials for teens in 6-12th grades. Additionally, graphic novels, magazines, and Morris schools' textbooks are located in this section. Young Adult audiobooks and nonfiction are incorporated into the adult department and are identified by a "YA" or "Teen" sticker on the spine.
Teens in 6th grade to age 18 may access library computers with a completed parental permission form on file. These forms are available at the front desk at the library.
Teens may drop-in for the weekly Teen Writing Group on Tuesdays at 6:00 PM. Come meet other teens who love to write!
There is a monthly CoffeeHouse where Teens can share writing, including Poetry, Songs, or Stories. Enjoy refreshments and get positive feedback from other teens in a relaxed atmosphere. Watch the Events calendar for the next date and time.
We offer a Summer Reading Club during the summer months for those teens who enjoy reading and like to be involved in different activities and programs.
Teens that would like to be involved in planning events and programming for teens at the library can join the Teen Advisory Group. The group will meet once a month.
For more information, please call the library at (815) 942-6880.
