February Movie Night: Argo

The Morris Area Public Library's movie night for February will take place on February 21 at 6:00 p.m.  We will be featuring the movie Argo starring Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston, and John Goodman.

When militants seize control of the U.S. embassy in Tehran during the height of the Iranian Revolution, CIA agent Tony Mendez creates a fake Hollywood film production in order to rescue a group of American diplomats who have sought refuge at the home of a Canadian ambassador.  Argo was inspired by actual events. 

This movie is rated R for language and some violent images.  Therefore, you must be at least 18 to register and attend.

the games afootThursday, September 4th the library is taking a bus trip to Drury Lane Theater in Oakbrook to see "The Game's Afoot".

From the creator of Lend Me A Tenor comes this whodunit filled with twists, turns and murderous pandemonium. It is December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his portrayal of the legendary Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his lavish Connecticut castle for a holiday weekend of revelry. When one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in the isolated house quickly turn dangerous. It is up to Gillette who assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears in this witty, suspenseful caper. $61.00 includes transportation, lunch, and matinee show ticket. Rag WreathWho doesn't love Pinterest?  And who doesn't pin crafts they'll probably never make? Well, here's a way to fix that!   The Library is hosting a Pinterest club! So how does a Pinterest club work?   Read on…  You pick up the flyer with the supply list from the library.  Purchase your supplies and bring them to the next group meeting. That’s it!  Each month will be a different craft. If you feel really ambitious, contribute to the "Pinterest Potluck" and make a simple snack or appetizer you found on Pinterest.   Join us for a fun way meet other crafty people and to get together to eat, gab, and craft! The project for June will be a "Rag Wreath". Supplies are simple; Scissors, assorted fabrics and ribbon, and a 12"wire wreath form. That's it! Try burlap, denim, colors of your favorite sports team, or holiday colors!

In this one hour course you will learn the basics of using Twitter. Topics covered include @replies, direct messages, hashtags, and retweets. Learn how to find people to follow and search for information about your interests. No registration, just drop in!
