Students of local violin instructor, Colleen Lawrence will perform a variety of favorite Christmas carols. Young adults and adults ages 15-25 are invited to attend the seventh library game day of the year. This event features games including Magic: The Gathering, and the Settlers of Catan. If you want to participate in these games please bring your Magic: the Gathering cards. Other board games will be provided for those that do not play the other featured games. Pizza and pop will be provided for this special December meeting!

The Morris Community High School Madrigal Singers will present a program of Christmas music on Thursday, November 10 at 6 p.m. in the library’s lower level. Directed by Alyssa Napolitano, the MCHS Madrigals wear colorful Renaissance-era costumes and sing traditional Christmas songs. Madrigal music originated in Italy and became popular in England during the 1500s. Friends of the Library volunteers will serve punch and homemade cookies after the performance. ![]() The library invites you to shop ‘til you drop at the Woodfield Mall on Thursday, November 17. Let our bus drive you to the mall and drop you off at the door. Find the perfect gift for someone in a mall that has over 300 stores and restaurants spread out over 2 million square feet! The mall is located in Schaumburg, Illinois approximately 60 miles north east of Morris. The cost for this trip is $15.00, with the bus leaving the library at 9:00 a.m. Participants should arrive at the library at 8:45 a.m. to check in and board the bus. The Morris Area Public Library will be hosting a trip to see a performance of a Midsummer Night's Dream at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater at Navy Pier on Thursday, March 15. Those who are going on the trip will need to be at the library no later than 5:15 PM in order to ensure a timely arrival for the performance at 7:30 PM.
Join Karen Hynds as she recounts an incredible ‘trip of a lifetime.’ In September 2011, 11 women, aged 56 to 78, made a 9 day climb to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Mt. Kilimanjaro, at 19,340 feet, is the highest freestanding mountain in the world and the highest point in Africa.
