Celebrate the world of Veronica Roth's Divergent Series!

On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives.  Beatrice Prior is classified as Divergent.  Divergents' minds 'move in several different directions' and can't be confined to one way of thinking, meaning that they cannot be controlled.  When Tris uncovers a conspiracy to eliminate all Divergents, she teams with the mysterious Four to find out what makes the powers-that-be so frightened of them.

Attendees will take the Faction Quiz to discern which craft and snack they will get.

Laughs & Crafts Pinterest Club!

Rag WreathWho doesn't love Pinterest?  And who doesn't pin crafts they'll probably never make? Well, here's a way to fix that!   The Library is hosting a Pinterest club! So how does a Pinterest club work?   Read on…  You pick up the flyer with the supply list from the library.  Purchase your supplies and bring them to the next group meeting. That’s it!  Each month will be a different craft. If you feel really ambitious, contribute to the "Pinterest Potluck" and make a simple snack or appetizer you found on Pinterest.   Join us for a fun way meet other crafty people and to get together to eat, gab, and craft! The project for June will be a "Rag Wreath". Supplies are simple; Scissors, assorted fabrics and ribbon, and a 12"wire wreath form. That's it! Try burlap, denim, colors of your favorite sports team, or holiday colors!

Beginning Tatting - Learn the basics for making tatted lace.  Very few supplies are needed… basically a shuttle and some thread, plus a few other things to get you started.  Register at the Morris Area Public Library. The class will be taught by Sherry Lewis Miller.

1 ball white size 10 crochet cotton thread

Local Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Charlene Fischer, will lead a series of workshops on Thursdays:  September 12, September 26, October 10, and October 24.  All of these programs will be at 6 p.m.  Materials will be provided.

July Vintage Craft

Dahlia Pom-Poms

 Are you running out of ideas for party decorations?  Then, join the library for its July Vintage Craft.  On Tuesday, July 23 at 6 p.m., the Morris Library will be teaching you how to make dahlia pom-poms.

Joyous bursts of color dance above a table, imparting a cheerful radiance to a rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, or casual reception.  The dahlia pom-poms appear to float in the air.  In reality, they are hung from the ceiling with monofilament.  Registration is required so reserve your spot by calling 815-942-6880 or stop by the library today.  This program is free and open to anyone 12 years of age or older.
