It's 2011 and girls mean business!  The Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana have put together this free program for girls going into Kindergarden through Grade 5.  Girls will learn financial literacy skills through hands-on learning techniques and fun, creative games and activities.

First and fifth graders are encouraged to share their love of reading!  In the Book Buddies program, students in fifth grade will be partnered with first graders and will listen to and help the younger children read aloud.  Registration begins April 6 and will be open to first and fifth graders only.  Class size is limited, so register fast!

Mark your calendars for this fun program for fourth grade students!  Chapter Chatter will be held on Wednesday, March 16 at 3:30 PM.  Each student and a parent are asked to read The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo (you can place the book on hold by clicking the title) and join us for a book discussion.  Edward Tulane, a cold-hearted and proud toy rabbit, loves only himself until he is separated from the little girl who adores him and travels across the country

Learn how to use the newest version of Microsoft Word with this one-hour class.  Topics include selecting templates; changing the font style and color; adding headers, footers, and page numbers; changing the line spacing and margins; saving your document; and printing your document.

This one-hour class covers the basics of computer use.  Topics include turning the computer on/off; using the mouse; changing the date and time; customizing the background; searching for documents; saving, opening, and deleting files, and more.
