Start: Apr 28 2009 - 6:30pm End: Apr 28 2009 - 7:30pm Set aside an hour to escape from your hectic lifestyle by joining the Morris Area Public Library for a couples-only dance class. Dancing is a fun form of social interaction which provides the added benefit of physical exercise. During this introductory class, you and your partner will learn a few basic patterns for the Rumba and Swing. The class are designed to provide a low pressure, fun, at-your-own-pace environment in which to learn the skills necessary for social event dancing. The class lasts for one hour, but participants are encouraged to stay afterward for free time in which to show off your new moves. The instructors, Tom and Rosanne Vogen, have been dancing together for more than fifteen years and have taught at various area venues. They currently teach the Basic and Continuing Couples Dance classes at Joliet Junior College. In addition to Rumba and Swing, the Joliet Junior College class will cover the Foxtrot and the Waltz. You can complement the library’s introductory class by attending the Basic Couples Dancing class, available at Joliet Junior College. Registration with a partner is required for this program. Space is limited to 15 couples. Due to high demand, a $10 per couple refundable fee must be paid by Friday, April 24 to hold your place on the list. To register for this program, please call the library at (815) 942-6880.
