
"Reading Is So Delicious!" at the Morris Area Public Library! The 2012 summer reading program features various events and crafts focusing on food. We have reading programs for children, teens, and adults, so there’s something for everyone in your family. Registration for "Reading is So Delicious!" begins May 29 in person at the library. The program begins June 4 and runs through July 14. We have a variety of events lined up for participants, including:
For children--a mystery play by the JJC Players, a magic show, and Food-A-Palooza (a food-a-riffic adventure)!
For teens--a pizza taste-off contest, a handwriting analysis workshop, and an anime/manga artist workshop by Artistic Dragon!
For adults--A Southern treats demo featuring food from the bestselling book The Help, "The Fine Art of Food" presentation by Jeff Mishur, and a "Spectacular Salads" demo!

This program is for adults ages 18 and over.
Participants are given a folder during registration. Read as many books (print, audiobooks, and ebooks) as you'd like between June 4 and July 14. Fill out a reading slip (located in your participation folder) for each finished book and turn in the completed slips by 4:00 PM each Sunday to enter weekly prize drawings. Prizes will be on display in the library. Participants are invited to attend a variety of events throughout the summer. A few of the featured events are "Southern Treats" a demo of food from the bestselling book "The Help", The Fine Art of Food Presentation, "Spectacular Salads- Come taste the freshness!" demo and much more!
There are three programs available for children:
Lapsit--Ages 1 month-2 years
Children ages 1 month to 2 years are welcome to attend the library's weekly lapsit programs.
Little Sprouts--Ages 3-entering Kindergarten
Little Sprouts are invited to participate in the weekly storytime programs and other programs throughout the summer. Visit the library once a week. Participants with at least four stickers in their folder are eligible to attend the finale event. Bring your folder with you for free admission. Little Sprouts are invited to attend a variety of programs throughout the summer.
Supreme Readers--Entering Grades 1-5
Supreme Readers receive a reading folder. Visit the library once a week. Participants with at least four stickers in their folder are eligible to attend the finale event. Supreme Readers are invited to attend a variety of programs throughout the summer.
The teen reading program is for anyone entering Grades 6-12.
