Children's Department

In the children's department, kids can find books, videos, magazines, music, audiobooks, and lots more! We have regular programs such as Storytime and Lapsit as well as special events like magic shows, plays, and arts and crafts!

Before you check out these websites, make sure you have a parent or guardian's  permission to be online.

If accessing the internet at the library, a parent or guardian (age 18 or older) must directly supervise (sit at the same terminal as) their child until the child has completed 5th grade.  Children in 6th-8th grades may use the library's computers independently if they have a completed parental permission form on file.

Storytime and Lapsit Programs

Preschool Storytime Programs

The Preschool Storytime Programs consist of stories, games, fingerplays, songs and other learning activities. The half-hour session is open to 3-5 year old children. Children must be mature enough to stay on their own and listen to stories. Participants should also be residents of the Morris Area Public Library District or non-residents who have purchased Morris library cards.  No registration required.

Toddler Lapsit Programs

The Toddler Lapsit Programs are open to children ages 1 month to 2 years old; a parent or guardian must be in attendance.  The half-hour sessions are hands-on with lots of parent-child interaction.  Participants should be residents of the Morris Area Public Library District or non-residents who have purchased Morris library cards.  No registration required. 

 

Lapsits and storytimes are held every Tuesday and Wednesday at 9:30 and 10:30 AM and every Thursday at 6:30 PM in January-April, June, and September-November.
